Gathviel is a Wood Elf tarnished who resides in Slag Town in the Brass Fortress. She can be found outside Daram Stables admonishing Kamid for wanting to disprove the Grand Prognosticator's predictions, which kicks off the quest Cogs of Fate if you speak to Palbatan.

Quest-Related Events[edit]
You walk on Gathviel and Kamid having an heated argument:
- Gathviel: "How dare you, Kamid! Your mother wanted a better future for you!"
- Kamid "Because a factotum with delusions of grandeur told her fortune? Do you really believe that?"
- Gathviel: "She believed it. Why can't you see—"
- Kamid "See what? That following the predictions of a deluded machine got my mother killed? I'll prove the Prognosticator is a fraud, see if I don't!"
Kamid then storms off to the Slag Town Outlaws Refuge, leaving her shaking her head. If spoken to, she will say:
- "Please, unless you have gold to spare or something other than paste to eat, just leave me alone."
She is present at the gathering, and can be spoken to:
- "What's this all about? Why has Kamid called us together? I hope he didn't do something stupid because of his mother's death."
She doubts Kamid during his speech:
- Kamid : "People of Slag Town! I bring you a revelation!"
- Kamid : "The Prognosticator lies! But we can change our fortunes, we have free will!"
- Gathviel : "Kamid, the apostles say there's no such thing as free will!"
Speaking to her after the quest is complete and Kamid's speech is over:
- "They said our fate was inescapable, that our sequence was set and nothing could change it.
It's almost too much to hope for, but if Kamid could change his fortune, then so can I!"
