Before the investigation is complete, he is frustrated with the way the Altmer stationed at the garrison are treating him.

"Quit bothering me you damn yell—oh. Sorry. What do you want?"

"For the last time, we don't eat people!
Sorry, thought you were another flat-tooth here to give me guff about these killings."

You seem awful touchy.

"I got enough dung heaped on me from these damn High Elves before the bodies started piling up. Now they're eying me like some damned rabid dog and badgering me with a bunch of ignorant chuff.
How about you let me get back to my business now, yeah?"

After the investigation:

"Killer's gone, so back to the usual sneers, I guess."

"Glad that's over with. If one more of these tuskless sots looked at me sideways, I really would have been guilty of murder."
