Pay a total of 100,000 gold to the Fence OR to the Tamriel Guards to clear your criminal record.

Felonious Recompense is awarded for paying large sums of money to clear your bounty. The key thing to keep in mind is that you must pay a total of 100,000 to either Fences or Guards. It is not the combined total of the two that counts. So clearly paying the fences is a better option if you can manage to evade capture, as they will not confiscate your stolen possessions, and will instead of course pay you for them, which can offset the large amounts of money you'll be spending for this achievement. It may be wise to avoid investing skill points in Kickback if you are working towards this achievement, as this skill reduces the amount you spend to clear your bounty, which will make it take much longer to earn (and pay off) enough bounty. This achievement will allow you to purchase a Pile of Coins or Scales of Felonious Recompense for your home. They cost 000025002,500  and 000050005,000 , respectively, and can be purchased from any Outlaws Refuge Merchant.
