If you talk to Eilun first to initiate the quest, he will say:

"Should have listened to father. Should have gone to work for Hadran at the Caravan."

If you talk to Eilun after initiating the quest, he will say:

Notes

• Initiating the quest with Eilun won't result in him actually becoming your companion as his dialogue might suggest. This also holds true for Kanniz and Galbenel.
• Kanniz will not actually be outside waiting for you like Galbenel, however it is presumed he made it out of the mine safely with your help.
