CRIMINAL ACT Summon a decaying skeleton from the ground after 2.5 seconds. The skeleton runs after the target and explodes when it gets close to them, dealing [9529 / 9633 / 9737 / 9842] Disease Damage to all enemies nearby and applying Major Defile to them for 4 seconds, reducing their healing received and Health Recovery by 16%. Creates a corpse on death. - Stalking Blastbones: CRIMINAL ACT Summon a flaming skeleton from the ground after 2.5 seconds. The skeleton runs after the target and explodes when it gets close to them, dealing [9529 / 9633 / 9737 / 9842] Flame Damage to all enemies nearby. Every second the skeleton spends chasing its target increases the damage of the explosion by 10%, up to a maximum of 50% more damage. Creates a corpse on death.
Blastbones creates a skeleton from the ground which runs toward the selected target and explodes, dealing Flame Damage to all nearby enemies. Casting this in the presence of justice neutral NPCs will earn you a bounty. The Blighted Blastbones morph changes the casting cost to Stamina and the damage to Disease Damage, also reducing the target's healing received, while the Stalking Blastbones morph deals more damage the longer it chases a target.
Notes[edit]
- Blastbones is one of the fastest ways to create a free corpse, which can be used for a number of other Necromancer abilities.
- Blighted Blastbones is a recommended morph for the Deathbringer build, while Stalking Blastbones is recommended for Necromancer Initiate and Baleful Summoner.
- Blastbones is depicted as a card in Legends.
- The Stalking Blastbones morph is only effective if the target is moving and either turns a corner or gets far enough away to make the skeleton run before it can leap. Stationary targets, even at max range, will not trigger the stalking effect.

Patch Notes[edit]
- Removed the delay of the skeleton summoned from this ability and its morphs before it would attempt to leap to its target, to help reliability.
- Reduced the minimum range of the leap ability to 7 meters from 5 meters to reduce situations where the Blastbones becomes confused on what to do, causing it to stand still, pondering its own existence.
- Due to many mechanical issues with the Necromancer's engagement with corpses and targeting of corpses, the following changes have been made in hopes to alleviate some of these shortcomings:
- Blastbones and its morphs' corpses will now last 6 seconds, rather than 5 seconds.
- Skeletal Mage and Spirit Mender and their morphs' corpses will now last 10 seconds, rather than 5 seconds.
- Improved the targeting areas from all tether abilities, and will now link to the corpse closest to your reticle from a much larger radius.
- Developer Comment: The goal of these changes is to help reduce situations where tether abilities do not grab a corpse in high combat load, as well as making it easier for Necromancers to feel in control of the amount of corpses on the field when utilizing their corpse generating abilities.
- The skeleton from this ability and its morphs will now attempt to leap from up to 28 meters after a short delay of spawning in, rather than 15 meters.
- Fixed an issue where the skeleton would appear to jump backwards when leaping in close ranges. The skeleton will now also properly attempt to face its target while leaping, rather than moon-walk jumping.
- Increased the speed in which the skeleton jumps.
- Developer Comment: The above changes were made in hopes to greatly reduce situations where the Blastbones would become confused while walking around and take longer than intended - or completely fail – to reach its target. We understand the change to this ability significantly reduces the morph functionality of Stalking Blastbones in most situations, but we've opted to keep it untouched while we gauge feedback on how the changes to the base ability and reliability of the attack feel. Keep in mind that Stalking Blastbones guarantees at least a 10% damage increase over the base morph, so even in situations where it jumps immediately, this morph isn't completely wasted; it just will not reach its highest scaling unless the Blastbones needs to gain line of sight on the target you initially cast it on.
- Made some improvements to the cooldown duration of this ability, to reduce the chances of it becoming locked out despite the skeleton dying.
