Bjora at Fenrar's camp

Bjora is a citizen and guard of Karthwatch who was captured by Reachmen after the harrowstorm hit the town. You learn from Helsi that she was adopted as a baby after being found at Reachman camp after a raid by Nords and raised as Helsi's daughter.

Eventually, it comes out that Bjora is a descendant of the ancient Reachman king Red Eagle and she was taken to assume the mantle. At the conclusion of the related quest, she will relocate to Solitude.

The Blood of Old Karth[edit]

Bjora under the effect of the witches' mind control

After freeing the villagers from Red Eagle Tower, one will tell you that Bjora was taken to the stone circles over the bridge to meet with witches. You will find Bjora by herself praying beneath an ancient briarheart tree. When you try talking to her, you will find her eyes are glowing purple and she speaks in a stilted manner.

"Hmm? Who are you? Leave me be. I must wait here for my sisters to receive the blessing of my destiny."
What's happening to you?
"A rebirth. Lady Meritha and her sisters pulled the caul from my eyes. I now know my truth. The holders of Karthwatch are not my true family. I belong to the Reach."
They told you that you're a Reachman?
"A true heir of Karth. Where you stand and all you see belong to my people. The Nords took it by force. Just as they stole me away after slaughtering my kin.
The witch sisters showed me a vision. Blood from Faolan, the Red Eagle, flows in my veins."
What does that mean?
"My sisters whisper prophecy to me from their stone circles of power. The Gray Host will rise and unite the Reach clans. Together, we will retake our home.
I will lead them in this dark mission. I shall be made queen."

After this Hafskjar will arrive, wanting to know what is wrong. He will suggest killing the witches to break the enchantment.

Speaking to her again before setting her free:

"I need not listen to an outsider like yourself. Soon, I shall be made Queen of the Reach.
Until that time, I ponder the secrets my sisters whisper to me from their ancient stones."

After dousing all three witches' rituals, you must return to Bjora. She will have emerged from the spell.

Hafskjar: "Bjora! Are you all right?"
Bjora: "Hafskjar? I'm … oh, what have I done?"

Speak to her.

"Hmm … I remember your face. You spoke to me earlier.
It was like I was walking through a dream. Or a nightmare. What made it stop?"
We killed the witches that entranced you.
"It's coming back to me, now. Just flashes. The Reachmen attacked. Three witches led them. They brought me here and … did something.
I saw visions before me. Memories that weren't mine. An old Reach King called me his daughter."
What else did you see?
"Eyes in the dark. A steady, marching drum. I stood beside a strong man with haunting eyes. His stare chilled my soul. He placed a briar crown on my head and said I'd lead his armies.
What do you think it means?"
The witches spoke of a prophecy that you were meant to lead the Reachmen.
"I … remember that's what I believed. It felt so true. But, I would never betray my family or the hold.
Karthwatch! Oh gods, it is all gone. Is anyone else still alive?"
Hafskjar and I rescued several people. They've gathered outside town.
"We must join them, then! I'm so relieved to hear it's not all lost. Please, I want no more of this place."
Let's get you out of here.

Back at Fenrar's camp, the survivors of the attack on Karthwatch will greet you.

Fenrar: "Kyne's breath it's good to see you all. We've made it."
Hafskjar: "We'll find somewhere new. If we stick together, we'll survive this."
Bjora: "Here's the one who saved me."
Fenrar: "We are in your debt, wanderer."

Speaking to her before completing the quest:

"Thank you for finding me. You and Hafskjar pulled me out of a nightmare. I keep seeing the face of that horrific fanged man. But, I'm safe now.
I want to get far from this place. These people are all I have left. We need to stay safe."
Bjora and her fellow survivors in Solitude

Speaking to her at Fenrar's camp after the quest:

"Don't worry about me. I'm back with my family now. I know they'll keep me safe.
Please, be careful if you venture towards Markarth. If the visions I was shown are true, I fear horrors are gathering there."

Following the quest, she relocates to Solitude and can be found between the bank and the inn:

"This place is … different from Karthwatch. Busier, louder. But I'm told it's safe. So at least there's that."
Bjora with Hafskjar at the Blue Palace

Daughter of the Wolf[edit]

She and Hafskjar will also appear at the Blue Palace for the ceremony during Daughter of the Wolf if you completed her quest beforehand:

"We've had a long road from Karthwatch to here. But all of us survived the journey unharmed. We're together, thanks to you.
Our town may be gone, but thank the gods Solitude didn't suffer a similar fate."
What will become of Karthald?
"Our town is lost. I've heard stories of towns left empty and untouched after fire, sickness, or storm. I don't see Karthwatch's fate being any different.
As for the hold? I suspect the Reachmen take control. There's no one left to fight back."
Have you experienced any more visions?
"Nothing new, thank the Eight. But the memories of what those witches put in my head still haunts me. What could it mean?
The sisters believed I am a descendant of some Reach hero. But I have no interest in that. As far as I care, I am a Nord."
