The Azureblight Seed to trigger Hardmode in the Veteran version of Lair of Maarselok. During the final fight against Maarselok on his roost, Selene can be made hostile by activating the Azureblight Seed to trigger Hardmode:

<This Azureblight seed resembles those you've seen in your ascent through the corruption, except this one has writhing roots sprouting from its cracked shell. Like it's trying to plant itself in the fetid soil.>

<Try to smash the seed.>

<The brittle shell shatters from the blow, but a surge of blighted vines burst forth, burrowing through the ground toward Selene and her magical wards. It's hard to tell if the rumbling you hear are the roots or Maarselok's throaty chuckle.>
