Assassin Beetles are large, hostile arthropods found primarily in arid or warm regions of Tamriel. They have six legs, a hard exoskeleton, and are dark in color, often with red markings.

Bite

A basic melee attack dealing low physical damage.

Deep Bite/Laceration

The beetle lunges forward and bites fiercely, dealing moderate physical damage and low bleed damage over time. This can be blocked to set the beetle off-balance. (Red beetles only)

Poisonous Bite

The beetle coats its mandible with poison and bites its target, dealing moderate physical damage and low poison damage over time. This can be interrupted to set the beetle off-balance. (Grey beetles only)

Shadow Step/Ambush

The beetle teleports behind its target.

Acid Blood

Upon death, the beetle has a chance of releasing bubbling poison around its corspe, that appears on the ground as a circular AoE, dealing constant low poison damage.

Collywobbles

The beetle infects the target with a disease, temporarily lowering their damage output and applying a light snare effect. ^{Dungeon-specific?}

Backstabber

The beetle has a passive ability that causes it to deal 20% more damage when attacking the target's back.
