Show the Ashlander tribes that you can be trusted
The Zainab tribe has encouraged other Ashlanders to seek a positive relationship with outlanders. Because I've shown respect to the Ashlander culture, I've been encouraged to help build that relationship.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Talk to either Udami at Urshilaku Camp, or Nakan-Obar at Erabenimsun Camp.
  2. Head to Ald'ruhn and talk to Zanammu.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

You can start this quest at any time after completing Ancestral Ties by talking to either Udami at Urshilaku Camp, or Nakan-Obar at Erabenimsun Camp, or Alaburani at Ahemmusa Camp.

When speaking to Udami at Urshilaku Camp:

"You. I remember you. You were at Ald'ruhn. Some say you're a friend to the clans.
Do you wish to prove it?"
What do you mean?
"Met some nomad called Zanammu of the Zainab tribe. Smart man. Told me his tribe has done well dealing with outlanders. We Ashlanders aren't quick to change our ways, but perhaps we should try."
How can I help?
"It's up to our leaders to make that decision, but they're still in Ald'ruhn. You could see Zanammu, tell him you want to work with the tribes. Show us that some outsiders can be trusted. He can direct you to the other tribes."
I'll seek out Zanammu at Ald'ruhn.

When speaking to Nakan-Obar at Erabenimsun Camp:

"You're not welcome here—No, wait. I've seen you before, haven't I? The Outlander who gained permission to perform the sacred rite to honor the First Ashkhans. You may walk freely here.
Perhaps you even seek to prove yourself further."
Prove myself further?
"These are troubling times. We have the strength and the will to weather any storm, but that does not mean we should turn away potential allies when they make themselves known. If you continue to aid the tribes, perhaps in time I will call you friend."
How can I help?
"Return to Ald'ruhn. Seek out Zanammu of tribe Zainab. He has a particular fondness for outlanders and is less likely to try to kill you. From there, he can direct you to those who will guide you on the path to becoming a friend of the clans."
I'll find Zanammu in Ald'ruhn.

When speaking to Alaburani at Ahemmusa Camp:

"I recognize you. You paid tribute to the First Ashkhans at Ald'ruhn. Many eyes were upon you, whether you knew it or not.\n\nFor that honor, I will call you friend. Many others would likely do the same were you to help the tribes."
Help the tribes?
"The annual gathering at Ald'ruhn is a time to reflect, but also to look forward. Our leaders have noted how strong the Zainab tribe has grown due to their willingness to work with outsiders. They encourage us to do the same."
Is there some way I can help?
"You have already shown your respect for our ways. Return to Ald'ruhn and seek out Zanammu of the Zainab tribe. Ask him how you might continue to further your friendship with our tribes. Perhaps in learning from us, we can also learn from you."
I'll find Zanammu at Ald'ruhn.

Return to Ald'ruhn and find Zanammu. He will be in the Zainab tribe section of the settlement (up the hill, on the northwestern side of Skar).

"It was wise of you to seek the favor of my people. Less so, perhaps, to aid the Hleran. But I suppose we shall see what comes of that in time.
Is there something I can do for you?"
I was told to seek you out if I want to further aid the Ashlander tribes.
"I see. Yes, I have been using our time gathered here to urge the other tribes to adapt and make allies. It's vital to prepare if we want to survive the change that's to come.
It hasn't been easy, but perhaps you could become a decisive example."
What would I need to do?
"Simply show a willingness to help the tribes, or even just a willingness to learn their ways. Go and speak with them. Show them you can be trusted, and you will be rewarded with the favor of the tribes."
I'll speak with them.
"Meet with the Ashlander tribes. Hear their problems and offer your aid. Show your respect for their traditions, and you will surely find someone willing to speak with you.
Help all you can, and let them see not everyone is our enemy."

This completes the quest, and unlocks two quest-givers in Ald'ruhn who will give you daily quests. Huntmaster Sorim-Nakar of the Erabenimsun tribe will give you quests that involve hunting unique monsters of Vvardenfell, and Numani-Rasi of the Urshilaku tribe will give you quests that send you to different Daedric ruins on the continent to retrieve relics.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
