Oblivion talk:Spell List Notes
Should this be cleaned up?[edit]
These notes don't seem to be applicable to all of the pages they're attached to. They make sense on the main spells page, and the spells by effect page, but other pages which include this one have..issues.
For instance, the first note says "The cost for most of these spells matches the value you would calculate...", but that's not the case on the leveled spells page, where all of the spells but one differ, or on M'raaj-Dar's page; on the other end of the stick, most spell merchants (such as Tumindil and Ungarion, for instance) don't have any spells which differ.
Also, the notes about quest-specific spells and M'raaj-Dar's spells don't make sense on merchant's pages, and the note about The Unwelcome Guest and Fenrik's Welcome doesn't apply to any page that doesn't list those two spells. And the note about the cost to buy spells doesn't apply to the leveled spells page.
I'm not sure what the best way to fix this would be, though I'm inclined to suggest splitting this into parts--Merchants_Spell_Notes and Leveled_Spell_Notes, for instance--and then fixing each of the [pages] to include only the one(s) that applies. Since that's definitely not a minor change, though, I'd like to get other input before tackling it. DisplacedAvenger 10:17, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
- I think this should be cleaned up. Later I'll TRY to do something with it, though I have a busy schedule today. --Playjex 10:26, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
- The suggested split makes sense. Also, I'd take off the overly-specific information about M'raaj Dar, Captivate and the two Open spells. I think those details should appear only on the relevant pages. --RpehTalk 11:31, 6 July 2007 (EDT)

- Ok, split is complete. See Oblivion:Purchased_Spell_Notes and Oblivion:Leveled_Spell_Notes for the new pages. I've updated all of the pages that refered to this page, except for Oblivion:Spells, Oblivion:List_of_Spells_by_Effect, and Oblivion:Spell_Tomes; the first two include all spells, and the spells on the third aren't purchasable, though they tend to follow the calculations, unlike the leveled spells.
