Oblivion talk:S'drassa
Merchant chest error[edit]
Jadrax is right. According to the AI packages on his base form, S'drassa should offer merchant services every day from 12:00 on, but the reference that puts him into the mages guild has not attached merchant chest. Clearly the ingredient chest next to the potions chest that Alves Uvenim uses was meant for him, but the connection was not made. --JustTheBast 20:09, 26 February 2007 (EST)
I just made a 0.5K ESP file that should fix this, and am looking at the Upload File page, but that seems to be meant exclusively for images and media files. --JustTheBast 20:28, 26 February 2007 (EST)
The fix I tried didn't work, and upon looking at the base NPC form again, I can see why: there is more missing than just the reference's link to the chest. Although he is classed as an alchemy merchant and tasked with offering services for up to eight hours per day in addition to his default "Trainer Wander" package, none of his sales flags are set, and he has only the default 10 gold for barter. Alves Uvenim, on the other hand, has the sales flag for ingredients set - but she doesn't have any in her merchant chest. Instead, they're in the separate chest, which she owns but isn't connected to.
So, this seems more a case of a half-finished setup than an finished one with a small error. --JustTheBast 21:17, 26 February 2007 (EST)
Nevertheless I've put a fix for these discrepancies into the plugin, doubling its size to 1K and bringing it in conflict with any mod that alters S'drassa's base form. If you like, download it. --JustTheBast 21:34, 26 February 2007 (EST)
- Nice work! I almost played about trying to make a patch myself, but I decided to go to sleep instead. Jadrax 05:43, 27 February 2007 (EST)
Skooma[edit]
I believe I saw some skooma in the chest in that janitor room-like place... Shouldn't it be noted that he may be a skooma addict (after all, Khajiit are known to be skooma addicts)? CRACK-A-BACK 17:09, 25 June 2007 (EDT)
- How does the presence of skooma in an unowned chest in the Mages Guild imply that S'drassa is a akooma addict? Multiple dialogues in the game tell you that S'drassa is working on a cure for skooma addiction. I don't think that working on a cure implies that he's an addict. --NepheleTalk 23:35, 29 June 2007 (EDT)
?[edit]
I tried to place an enchanted hood into his inventory by pickpocketing him, but all it said was "You cannot place items in a container while pickpocketing." What's up with that? - Some Random Person Obsessed with Oblivion
- You can only place items with zero weight in characters pockets. The weight of the hood you tried to place in his pocket must have been above zero weight so it says "You cannot place items in a container while pickpocketing." Try again except with an enchanted mages hood or permanent bound helmet- (both of these items are at zero weight).--Willyhead 07:55, 1 September 2007 (EDT)
Oh, ok, thanks. The article didn't specify that it had to be weightless. - SRPOwO
Alright, now it lets me place the enchanted mage's hood into his inventory, but when I attack him he doesn't equip it. He either runs and summons a creature, or turns himself invisible. Then I hit him again and he just flees. - SRPOwO
You have to enchant it,Npc's place on the strongest items they can find in their inventories.Puddle 16:03, 28 February 2008 (EST)
- For the highest chance for him to equip it I suggest you make the Enchanted Hood's name start with an A, when you make an Item's name start with an A it goes before all the other items that start with B, C, D, etc. so it will be first on the NPC's list of items, try that and see if you get lucky at all. --Dremora Lord 16:13, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Merchant Chest Error (UOP)[edit]
The bug that UOP fixes is with (Alves's) second chest not having ingredients, not reassigning it to S'drassa. He's also been removed as an "invest-able store". - Ali 14:56, 27 March 2010
- As stated in the UOP description, from what's in the Construction Set, it appears that S'drassa was never supposed to be a store-owner. The only thing the UOP does is to remove that option by changing S'drassa's class. The original description was poorly-written; I've re-written it completely. ‒ Robin Hood↝Talk 19:09, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
