Oblivion talk:Daedra
The table on this page suggests that Storm Atronachs do not have shock resistance if they are summoned.... is that intentional or a typo? --Vilhazarog 13:34, 1 March 2007 (EST)
- Yes, summoned storm atronachs do not have shock resistance. I bold-faced the 0 to try to emphasize that it is different from the expected value. The lack of shock resistance is probably a mistake on Bethesda's part. Whereas standard storm atronachs have the ability "AbAtronachShockResist" (the source of the shock resistance), summoned ones do not have that ability. But I did mess up and forget to enter the summoned info properly further down on the page; I just fixed that :) --Nephele 14:23, 1 March 2007 (EST)
also This says you can't encounter a frost atronach on the planes of oblivion but i did... — Unsigned comment by 74.96.216.212 (talk)
- It says that you only rarely encounter them in the planes of oblivion, which is true. Of the 1053 places where daedra will spawn in Oblivion or at gates to Oblivion, only 62 will ever possibly spawn Frost Atronachs. A few more details have been added to the article for clarification. Eventually the Frost Salts article will be expanded to have all the gory details on when and where you can expect to find Frost Atronachs. --NepheleTalk 01:27, 21 June 2007 (EDT)
For some reason, when i cast a custom spell weakness to shock 100% and weakness to magic 100% on a storm atronach, it takes damage from shock spells. Any reason why? — Unsigned comment by PiercetheTruth (talk • contribs)
- Because the storm atronach's net resistance to shock would then be 0 (+100 from its natural 100% resistance added to -100 from your weakness to shock spell). Therefore a 10 point shock spell will do 10 points of damage; the 100% weakness to magic will then amplify the damage up to 20 points of damage. That's the way all resistances and weaknesses work, see Resistances and Weaknesses for more information. --NepheleTalk 21:35, 10 November 2007 (EST)
ohhh, awesome thanks.--Piercethetruth 01:52, 11 November 2007 (EST)

Are they evil or not?[edit]
I don't get if these things are evil or not. Despite some people saying that the Daedra are not actually "evil", these Daedras don't exactly look like the Angelic Saints. They are considered to be the opposite of Aedra (the Nine Divines) yet they are the main religion of Morrowind.
In some cases, they seem like the deadliest evils (Especially in the main quest) yet in others, they aren't nearly as bad as they are portrayed by their unsightly appearance.
- Why everything has to be evil or good? Are you evil? Or are you good? I am neither personally. Also, Daedra ain't the "main religion" in Morrowind as far as i know. 80.240.18.201 00:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
-Daedra are not so much evil as they mainly just have a disregard for mortals and their short life span. This is something we can pick up from interactions with Daedric God in just Oblivion and Skyrim. Daedra god completely disregard mortal life, and so in turn, the Dremora pick up and mimic that behavior. Not because they are inherently evil, but it's the influence they have as well as how their society works. Mortality is a weakness in their eyes because they themselves literally can't die. At least die and stay dead. They always reform back in oblivion to continue on with their lives. The Dremora respect power, strength, and those who are in control to keep a structure for themselves in a life of immortality. In structure they are like those on the mortal plain, only they are in a harsher and unforgiving plain. Personally I see them more as a separate warrior race. I would recommend watching "The DEADLY SOLDIERS of Oblivion" By FudgeMuppet, I think he does an amazing job of explaining it. And as someone who has begun to dive deep into the understanding of Daedra and Dremora, I personally find all of his points to be interesting and pretty solid.(09/02/22) (05:26EST)
Separating Runts from Clannfear...[edit]
Is there any reason that the Clannfear Runt stats are in a different section than the Clannfear stats, or Stunted Scamps are separate from regular Scamps? Is it because they are technically separate creatures, although in lore they are just variations on the same one or any other reason, or can they be merged? -13rats 02:20, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- They are different creatures with different abilities. I'm not particularly bothered either way though. –rpeh•T•C•E• 07:33, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
Xivilai noises[edit]
Anyone else have xivilai making zombie noises during battles? It especially seems to be unarmed ones or ones I knock down or stumble with arrows while they are recovering. I'm on 360 by the way. 71.52.167.19 18:54, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- They do that for me too, it's so weird. — Unsigned comment by 68.98.174.8 (talk) at 00:49 on 2 July 2010
Atronachs?[edit]
Wouldn't it technically be Atronaches? --Call999itsashark 12:37, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- See here. Atronachs is correct. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 12:48, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Xivilai Running Animation[edit]
This may just be me, but I've noticed that Xivilai appear to have a glitch in their running animation that makes them appear rotated 90 degrees to their right for a frame or 2. I haven't changed the Xivilai animation file and Nifskope reveals that the .kf file seems to place the model at this angle at the start of the animation and rotates it within a matter of frames to it's normal running direction. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if maybe this comment will cause someone else to look out for it. It's one of those things you just can't help noticing once you know about it (and for this, I apologise ;) ). As with all of my observations, this doesn't actually affect anything at all, just a curious little thing (and sorry if this isn't really the kind of info you look for at UESP, I'm still new to this whole thing). --Takark 00:33, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Easy Way to Kill Xivilai[edit]
One of the best ways to kill a Xivilai is to use a long paralize spell and slash/smash the heck out of them. The only problem is that paralize doesn`t always work.~~Argonian810:10PM Mar, 11/2011
- Pretty much goes with every monster.- Vanguard 03:09, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
True, but what about Spider Daedra? They`re immune to paralize.Argonian810:13PM Mar, 11/2011
- They're also weak.- Vanguard 15:13, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Cast a spell with drain health 100 pt for 1 sec on target and weakness to magic 100% for 1 sec on target. It works good and its cheap. --Archain 15:21, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Ive just found out[edit]
If i hit a Xivilai with my hand, it will nearly always fall on the ground. Anyone noticed the same? --Archain 08:37, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is caused by low fatigue on their part. Nothing unusual. Legoless 12:41, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Xivilai have decent fatigue actually, 300 base in the CS. Perhaps their use of large weapons causes their fatigue to drain quickly? --DKong27 Talk Cont 21:25, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Aurorans?[edit]
Should Aurorans be on this page or are they like Dremora? Datacaust 21:06, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- They have their own page. Since they're added by a plug-in, they're documented separately from the vanilla stuff. But you're right, they would belong here under normal circumstances. Legoless 21:10, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
-
- I think they should be added, the saints and seducers are also daedra in their own respects. Maybe a separate content table? Wouldn't all the creatures in Sheogorath's realm be daedra? Western3589 21:13, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
-
-
- Shivering Isles Daedra are separate from this article for obvious reasons, and the Saints and Seducers have their own page, similar to Dremora. Legoless 21:15, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
-
I guess it does specify 'From the planes of oblivion' at the start of the page. Dremora and Saints/Seducers are NPC's where these guys are creatures. That's why I thought they might go here. Datacaust 23:50, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Atronach's agility[edit]
All elemental atronachs seem to have low agility as they are often staggered or knocked down.
