Walkthrough[edit]
This quest starts when you talk to Typhola. Your first task is to search around in Kathar for clues as to who is helping slaves escape. In Ilmeni Dren's house (House Dren), you'll find an open notebook on a table that makes mention of a slave refuge that was destroyed. You'll get a quest marker - it's not far southwest of the city - so go there and look around. Under a broken bookcase, you'll find a notice that points you toward the Silver Mine, where there's supposed to be another refuge.
The second refuge is not in the mine itself, but just south of it - follow the bridge over the water, then find the ruins beyond. Go through the gate (ignore the voice telling you to stop) and you'll end up in a secret room in Ilmeni's house. There, you can either join her (which starts you along the Twin Lamps questline and gets you kicked out of the order) or kill her.

5 | There are Dunmer in Kathar who help slaves? As an Assassin, I should probably put an end to this. Only, who could be behind this? If anyone is actually foolish enough to mess with Andalis' Men, he must either have a lot of courage or a lot of gold. Or both.
10 | I found a strange note in Ilmeni Dren's house. It speaks of a of a slave refuge destroyed by the Assassins. And if I didn't know better, I could get the impression that the note's author doesn't approve of the destruction. I should investigate this and look around in the ruins.
20 | I found a message at the destroyed refuge. It talks about a watery crescent. Hey, doesn't the moat around the silver mine have the shape of a half-moon? Maybe this is a good starting point for my further search. The mine should be roughly south of here.
30 | The refuge! Looks as if the slaves spent the night here. And what is that there? A magical gate? What does that mean?
40 | Ilmeni Dren, an elderly Dunmer dame, seems to be behind the aid for the slaves. What should I do? Help the Dunmer, or kill the old woman?
50 | I will help Ilmeni Dren and the Twin Lamps. The slaves of the desert deserve better than to suffer under the yoke of the Dunmer. or I decided to kill Ilmeni Dren, the Twin Lamp. |
|
100 | Typhola was anything but happy about my decision to spare the elderly Dunmer Ilmeni Dren. She was so angry that she immediately threw me out of the Assassin Order. or Typhola was surprised that a Dunmer was behind the aid for the slaves. Nevertheless, she was satisfied with me and even gave me something like a compliment. I should get some sleep; perhaps Typhola will have another task for me tomorrow. |
- Notes
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in random order.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- It is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
setstage ODDAss34Twins stage
, wherestage
is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages. See SetStage for more information.
