Restita Statlilia is an Imperial commoner working at the Chestnut Handy Stables located just outside the main gate to the Imperial City.
With no horses for sale and without knowing about Snak gra-Bura's partiality for horseflesh, Restita's workday is limited to tending the horses already owned by the Imperial City citizens. She sleeps on one of the bedrolls inside the stables every night between 10pm and 6am. After waking up, she starts the day with a two-hour breakfast seated at the bench just outside the door. She enters the corral at 8am and proceeds to rake the ground amidst all the horses until noon. Her entire afternoon is spent in the corral as well, occasionally chatting with Snak. At 8pm she returns to the stables for a two-hour dinner before bedtime.
There are only two exceptions to this schedule. At any point while she is outside, she will start following you if you approach the barn outside the stables. During Light the Dragonfires, like all other Imperial City residents she is confined indoors.
Restita wears a lower-class outfit consisting of a coarse linen shirt, sack cloth pants, and a pair of rough leather shoes. She wields a rusty iron war axe and carries her rake, her torch, some food, and a few pieces of gold.

Dialogue[edit]
When you meet her for the first time, she will appear sad about the many horses missing from the corral:
- "Yeah. Restita Statlilia. I work at the Chestnut Handy Stables. Have you seen our horses wandering around? No? Okay. It's just that they're missing."
When asked about the Imperial City, she will elaborate:
- Imperial City
- "We stable horses for folks in the Imperial City. We'd sell horses, too. Except... we can't seem to keep track of them."
Unused Rumors[edit]
Restita appears to have once been the owner of a removed location, called "Statlilia Stables", which would've likely been in the Market District. Restita herself is mentioned in the ICALLNQDScript
which contains the location's NPCs that have rumors about them in the final game. While the rumors that link to Restita aren't actually set up in the final game, their dialogue still exists in the files. NPCs could've asked,
- "Have you ever considered buying a Paint?"
- "Ever been in the market for a Paint?"
This would've yielded one of four potential responses, either,
- "I've never wanted one. Still, they do seem to be some fine horses."
- "I don't know what a Paint is. It's a type of horse, right? It must be."
- "Not my favorite horses, but the Statlilia Stables are certainly reputable."
- "I prefer a Bay."
Two rumors would've been,
- "The Statlilia Stables has some fine Paints for sale."
- "If you're looking for a Paint, check out the Statlilia Stables."
This dialogue indicates that the stables would've specialized in Paint Horses.
Notes[edit]
- Besides the previously-mentioned rumors, An unused sign for the stables, called
ICSignStatlilia01
internally, can also be found in the Construction Set. - Both of Restita's unique dialogue lines have the "REC" note attached to them, showing that her lines were re-recorded. This implies that her lines might have been completely different at some point.
- While most other stablehands in Cyrodiil are armed with an iron war axe, Restita wields the very rare rusty variant. She is only one of two NPCs to carry this item, the other being her colleague, Brielus Gawey.
Bugs[edit]
- When you spend some time close to the barn of the Chestnut Handy Stables Restita will start following you. At that point, if you fast travel, she will travel along with you. Once arrived, she will simply walk all the way back to the Imperial City. Brielus Gawey shares this bug.
- The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 2.1.0, fixes this bug.
