Camp Ales

Camp Ales is a campsite north of Kvatch containing bandits (quest-related).

It is east of Fort Hastrel, on a hill overlooking the Imperial Reserve. The site consists of a tent with a bedroll, a stool, an unlit campfire, a non-respawning stone mug, a non-respawning stone pitcher, six non-respawning bottles of ale, a sack containing minor loot, and a barrel containing food; a non-respawning chest containing minor loot is among the rocks just east of the camp. Four motherwort plants can be found in the immediate vicinity, while two fennel plants, eleven more motherwort plants, and a viper's bugloss plant are in the wider area. During the main quest, an Oblivion Gate may open nearby to the north-northeast. On a clear day, the ruined city of Kvatch is visible to the south.

The camp only becomes significant if the Orrery official download is installed. Bothiel's note will mark Camp Ales on your map as the only known location of the bandits who stole the Dwarven artifacts. A male Redguard Bandit Carrier will appear in the camp, holding the first of the Dwarven items needed for the quest and an undelivered letter revealing the locations of the rest of the artifacts. This bandit doesn't respawn.
