Grandmaster Stuff[edit]

Is there any other place to find grandmaster picks & probes other than on the table next to the short blade master trainer? MrSensiBob 19:26, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

There's another pick in Endusal, Kagrenac's Study. Otherwise you have to get lucky because the only place is in random loot - specifically the l_n_lockpicks, bm_random_lockpick and l_n_probe lists. After level 20 you should start to find grandmaster items. It can take quite a while though. rpeh •TCE 20:49, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
kk thanks for the info! MrSensiBob 21:28, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Lock levels[edit]

The article doesn't tell, which lockpick opens a specific lock level. Am I having a bug, or is it normal, that Master's lockpick doesn't open lock level 100, and says: Lock too complex? — Unsigned comment by 91.152.176.192 (talk) on 10 August 2011

There's no specific lock level for each lockpick. The chance of you opening a lock is based on the pick and your security skill through some formula we don't know. You'll have to visit a trainer or pick lower-level locks to improve your security skill if you're getting a "too complex" message. rpeh •TCE 16:14, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, thanks a lot for the info!— Unsigned comment by 91.154.10.163 (talk) at 11:32 on 12 August 2011
The formula is given on the Security page - it appears that even if your Security skill is low, you can still open tough locks if you boost your Agility and/or Luck high enough 75.47.109.199 18:39, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Chance to Unlock[edit]

Is the formula correct? It says it depends on Agility, but Security is a skill governed by Intelligence. Shouldn't it take Int into account? — Unsigned comment by 177.236.228.210 (talk) at 16:40 on 9 August 2016
