Fyr[edit]
I just wanted to post a bug with Fyr that affects the main quest before this point in the game. I don't have any wiki experience, so here goes, perhaps someone else can put this in its place.
If you ever speak to Divayth Fyr before you've contracted Corprus (for example, trying to figure out Miner Arobar's Telvanni ties as a Redoran Council hopeful), and you happen to have a Dwemer Coherer in inventory, your journal and the main quest will be broken. Fyr will assume that you've been sent by Caius, with the interesting artifact as a gift, and you'll get certain journal entries relating to the cure for Corprus too early. The problem is, at this point, the game doesn't check to see if you have Corprus - only if you've got a Coherer. When you return to Caius, all he'll say about your Orders is that you need to go get your Corprus cured. Which you don't have and can't get. But Fyr WILL do the check for Corprus before talking about the cure, so the quest is stuck in a loop.
I don't believe there's a true fix for this problem, as I couldn't find a way to delete journal entries. But the game sets the Journal index according to what entries you have on loading, and you can change the index after it's been set. It's usually the journal index that gets used by the game in determining where you are in the quests.
If you've gotten yourself into this mixup (as I did), then before you speak to Caius, enter this in the console:
SetJournalIndex "A2_3_CorprusCure" 0
Unfortunately, you'll have to do this after every reload if you want to talk to the Spymaster.
Once you've actually contracted Corprus and Cosades sends you to Fyr, things should be practically back to normal, and you won't have to do the console entry. I was lucky. I was given the "Visit Sul-Matuul" orders before finding out about this mess, and the end of the next mission gets me Corprus disease.
Best is to avoid this. If Cosades hasn't ordered you to see Fyr to get your Corprus cured yet, and you need to talk with Fyr, make certain you don't have a Dwemer Coherer on you. — Unsigned comment by 124.106.196.94 (talk) at 02:27 on March 10, 2007
- Thank you! This seems to describe my situation, except that I'm still trying to complete the Vivec Informants quest. Considering how many Dwemer Coherers there are in Morrowind, that item should NOT have been used to trigger this event. (I'm currently carrying 3 of them; I went back to a previous save and set them on Caius' doorstep before I went in but that didn't change anything.)
- However, I can't get your console command to work: 'Script command "SetJournalIndex" not found in line 1.' I think I found an explanation for that:
-
- "Sets the Journal to that index. Can move up or down. Not used so I'm not sure what purpose or use this function is. Although it is supposedly included in the original game, it only works in Tribunal or later versions." - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:SetJournalIndex
- Does anyone know a solution to this that works in the original game? (No, I don't have a Save old enough to back out of taking a Dwemer Coherer to Tel Fyr, and I would lose far too much history if I did). Downstrike (talk) 02:11, 19 February 2013 (GMT)
-
- I suppose I can learn and enter all the Journal codes in the Command Console as I complete the quests Caius should be telling me to do. Won't that be a pain in the posterior anatomy? I may give it a try when my head isn't hurting. Downstrike (talk) 04:14, 19 February 2013 (GMT)

- You know you're responding to a post that's almost 6 years old, right? And it was an anonymous IP too, so we'd have no way of tracking down the original poster. As for your issue - it may require what you say - lots of console commands, and that could potentially screw a lot of other things up. Can you get Tribunal? It's probably pretty cheap now, and worth it for more than just this. (There's a bunch of other console features that were added by this expansion as well - not to mention the whole Tribunal questline and such.) I don't know - my current machine doesn't have MW anymore and I've lost the discs, so I can't look stuff up. You might be better off asking this kind of question in the forums. - Now it's over 7 years old. I think that's why Downstrike asked "Does anyone know", instead of asking the original person who posted. 74.38.23.12 02:19, 23 October 2014 (GMT)

- I'm not sure if this is part of the same problem, but I've found that if I'm carrying more than one Dwemer Coherer - or picked up another one in the Corprusarium - after giving Divayth one - the topic, "potion" is missing, and he starts over with asking to see the Coherer, and now that I've given him another, he assumes that I haven't brought him his boots even though I have, (as if I were his disobedient pet Nix-Hound), and says "Goodbye".
- Oh, once I interact with him again, "potion" is now available, and when he nags me again about the boots, he apparently accepts them from me. I'll go ahead and post this, in hopes that it provides a clue so that someone may someday figure out what this is all about. 74.38.23.12 02:19, 23 October 2014 (GMT)
Travel Problems[edit]
Not sure if it's possible to use the Mages Guild Guide for the journey -- when I try in Balmora, they won't speak to me because of the disease.213.67.148.6 09:04, 24 March 2008 (EDT)
- Try to raise their disposition through Charm preferably, or if desperate, Telvanni Bug Musk, that should do the trick. Never had this myself, because I always do some Mage Guild quest before going too far into the MQ. --Benould 12:20, 24 March 2008 (EDT)
Guarskin Drum?[edit]
I found A guarskin drum in the corprusarium and I brought it down to the bowels to give to Uupse Fyr... But all she says is "I see you found a guarskin drum." There's no removing it from my inventory. Are there two, then? Where's the other one?76.178.149.127 12:09, 26 July 2008 (EDT)
- There are a few, but whichever one you use, you need to talk to her about "guarskin drum", at which point she will take it from you. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 12:23, 26 July 2008 (EDT)
Help?[edit]
I spoke to Divayith Fyr before the quest. I just finished speaking to the Wise-Woman in the Urshilaku camp, and Caius said i have Corpus disease, and to go cure it t Tel Fyr. Everyone talks to me normal, but when i went to Tel Fyr, Divayith didn't have anything about me being infected. I raised his disposition to 100, and still no. Caius won't advance the quest till its "cured". What do i do? - Lucky the Cat Guy 00:17, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
- I should also add that when i spoke to him, he did mention the Dwemer artifact, but i didn't give it because i didn't know what he ment. But i got his disposition up. Also, i DID go into the Corprusinium (?) but i didn't know if that affected me, because my agility is very high and none of the creatures were able to lay a hand on me. Also, when Caius told me to get a cure, there was no journal entry. Also, i play on the Xbox version, so no console command suggestions please. this was Right after i came back with the Bonemold bow, and talked to the wise woman, then went to Caius. I spoke to Divayith before i got the Bow. - Lucky the Cat Guy 06:38, 14 August 2008 (EDT)
-
- Do you actually have Corpus? Does Corpus actually show in your effects list? If not, you have probably invoked the bug mentioned at the top of this page. --Brf 08:07, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

-
- No i don't, but when i didn't give the artifact, there wasn't a journal entry, so i don't think it could be the same as the bug at the top. — Unsigned comment by Lucky the Cat Guy (talk • contribs) at 05:27 on August 15, 2008

- If you did not do the Sixth House Base quest to catch Corpus, and Caius still thinks you have Corpus, then it is the bug. The bug does not say you have to give the artifact to Divayith, only that you had to have one in hand. --Brf 16:15, 15 August 2008 (EDT)

- SO basically now because of one little screw up i can never complete the main quest on my guy who got Full Daidric, completed both the Tribuanl and Bloodmoon quests, and got over 12 artifacts? That sucks...alot...(i play on the Xbox) - Lucky the Cat Guy. 13:56, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

(←) Look hard at your journal, it should say something. Perhaps you did get "10 I showed Divayth Fyr the Dwemer artifact the Spymaster gave me, but I didn't give it to him." Lukish_ Tlk Cnt 01:24, 31 December 2008 (EST)
- Remembering correctly, I found the "artifact" in some random dwemer ruin. (don't remember which). And I remember looking at my journal. after the Bonemold Bow quest, there was nothing. But It couldn't have been beforehand, because he talked to me just fine when he gave the quest. I'll look again when I can play. Lucky the Cat Guy. 15:44, 1 January 2009 (EST)

- Alllrighty, I just looked, and didn't have a entry related to the artifact. BUT, when I talked to the Argonian guard, my journal updated saying I was warned not to kill the corprus victims. Maybe that did it? If so, anyone know how to fix it without Console commands? — Unsigned comment by Lucky the Cat Guy (talk • contribs) at 05:39 on January 6, 2009
Dwemer Coherer bug verification[edit]
The 'bugfix' for the Dwemer Coherer problem (SetJournalIndex A2_3_CorprusCure 0
) requires either Tribunal or Bloodmoon because of the 'SetJournalIndex' command, which was only introduced with Tribunal - it doesn't exist if you only have the base game. --Gaebrial 02:29, 20 February 2009 (EST)
Killing Divayth Fyr[edit]
I wanna kill the guy to get his armor, and i've already been cured of the disease. is it okay? also, when would i be able to (exact moment) after he gives me the potion? after i report to causi-whatever after he gives me the potion? ect ect....— Unsigned comment by 74.46.25.17 (talk) on 27 August 2009
- As mentioned on his page, there is a better way to get the armor from him. But I see no problem killing him after you finish the main quest. –Elliot talk 01:45, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Divyath Fyr problems.[edit]
So, was doing one of the telvanni quests from Sadrith Mora, think it was something along the lines of giving Divayth Fyr a coded message. Went to see the guy and he would not talk to me, he tells me that i have killed one of the corprus inmates, which i probably did. But anyway im not bothered at all about finishing the telvanni, what i am worried about is when i come to do the corprus cure quest, im hoping that this quest will prompt him talking to me but if it doesnt, IM SCREWED. I play the PC version so if anyone knows any console commands to get around this that would be great. — Unsigned comment by 89.240.204.30 (talk) at 08:37 on November 20, 2009
- Just adding a note here because it took me forever to find out how to fix the above problem. Simply cast a charm spell on Divayth Fyr and he will forgive you for killing his inmates allowing you to proceed as normal with the quest. You can pick up a couple types of charm spell from a vendor in Dirty Muriel's Cornerclub in Sadrith Mora if you don't have it already, the vendor even has spellmaking abilities Chanser69 02:37, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
Disease Resistance[edit]
It may be worth mentioning in the article that once you gain the 100% disease resistance you are incapable of becoming a vampire or werewolf. — Unsigned comment by 129.72.134.44 (talk) on 14 jan 2011
- It actually isnt impossible, you can cast a Weakness to Common Disease on self to get rid of the 100% temporarily, I know I had to do that one time to become a vampire. Also, you become a werewolf automatically during the main quest of Bloodmoon if you do not cure it in 3 days.--Catmaniac66 20:48, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
-
- You should also be able to use console commands to give yourself the diseases. I was thinking the vampires and werewolves pages already mention the specific commands. --Brf 20:39, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
attributes[edit]
your attributes NEVER get restored by divath fyrs corprus cure but all you have to do is go to an imperial cult and select restore attributes, your strength and endurance stay raised (unless damaged by a bonewalker or something and you cant get the bonus back after) and everything else goes back to your base stats (Eddie the head 11:55, 27 February 2011 (UTC))
- That is not true. Once you are given the cure, your four drained attributes will be restored by 1 point. If you have taken more than one day to get cured, the remaining points for each day will not be cured immediately. --Brf 14:07, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
xbox problems[edit]
He didn't tell me I couldn't kill any patients and I didn't talk to the warden until I was coming out and had already killed all the monsters that attacked me. I saved before I realized my problem. Is this a delete and start over situation or can I rescue it. I don't have enough magica for a charm spell and can't get my hands on enough fortify maciga potions to help. Killed one of the inmates[edit]
I accidently killed one of the corpus inmates without knowing I couldnt, So what do i do now to get the chorpus cure? I also have been trying charm spells using the console to get my illusion up like 100000000000000000, But his popularity or whatever its called goes up to like 4. Then 18. Then 9. Then 14. Then 1. Then 6. Then 0. HELP!!! — Unsigned comment by Ifritletsplays (talk • contribs) at 02:03 on January 7, 2013
- I did this the first time I played, and was fortunate to have Voice of the Emperor available. Downstrike (talk) 04:08, 19 February 2013 (GMT)
Corprus Effect[edit]
Maybe the effect of Corprus should be mentioned somewhere in the page? (drain or fortify 1 point attitudes every 24 hours and disgust random NPCs)
Also, the page says that you need to give Fyr the coherer and tell him you may be nereverine to have the potion, which is not true. He will ask you to fetch the boots anyway as long as your disposition towards him is 50+. Asking him about dwemer artifact after that will have him thank you regardless of whether you give him the coherer, though. Edgeless Night (talk) 06:30, 12 February 2020 (GMT)
Divayth's daughters are not listed as essential[edit]
If you kill any of Divayth's daughters, Corprus Cure is unable to be completed. He will agro upon initiation of dialogue even if he is calmed and his disposition is set using the console. This is likely to happen to players completing the House Redoran questline. Not aware of any fix to this and it is completely game-breaking. — Unsigned comment by 86.44.16.78 (talk) at 23:51 on 21 June 2020 (UTC)
