MediaWiki talk:Talkpagetext
Extra message[edit]
Okay, how about these. They would go beneath the existing talk page message and the content can be varied depending on namespace. Most of the messages use the {{BASEPAGENAME}} magic word, which is why the boxes currently talk about Talkpagetext. That will change to the name of the page being viewed.
On user pages, we would see:
This page is intended to let other users leave a message for Talkpagetext about wiki business. It is not meant for general chat. If you want to talk to Talkpagetext, please consider using IRC or Email.
On help pages (where people keep asking help questions):
Please ensure you are posting in the right place. The help pages are not for asking questions; rather, they are guides for people who want to edit the wiki. If you are looking for specific help, please use the Search command to find a page related to your query, and ask on the talk page for that article instead.
Everywhere else:
Please remember that talk pages are meant for discussing the contents of the article, or for asking specific questions. If you want to chat with other users about Talkpagetext, please consider using the UESP forums instead.
Any extra messages for specific namespaces? Perhaps one for Skyrim? Changes in wording or style? Let me know. rpeh •T•C•E• 14:29, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not too sure a message will be extremely effective, but what they hell, we should at least try it. Wikipedia's is good to base one off of. I think the last one would be best; we don't want to sound too harsh. Elliot (talk) 05:44, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
