Shadowkey Wolves[edit]
This end up being more similiar to Lore:Bear than I would've liked... I didn't post any info from Shadowkey about wolves because I know only their names and that they drop umbric fur.--Ashendant (talk) 01:51, 21 July 2014 (GMT)
Arena Snow Wolves Casting and Werewolves Neutrality[edit]
So i'm trying to understand some of the changes.(I'll admit the boots neutralizing wildlife was unnecessary :/) So i'll ask the following:
- Snow Wolves cast a range frost spell according to Arena:Monsters. Why was that removed?
- Wolves don't automaticly attack Werewolves. I thought this was a notable lore behaviour and not just a game play mechanic.
Just trying to understand so I can do a better job with other articles.--Ashendant (talk) 04:41, 21 July 2014 (GMT)
- While the snow wolves encountered in Arena may cast that spell, most likely do not. If it was documented in a text somewhere that snow wolves do that, it would be accepted. The logic behind them not attacking the werewolves doesn't need to be mentioned, in my opinion. Wolves don't attack each other, and a werewolf is, for all intents and purposes, a much larger wolf that stands on two legs the majority of the time. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 04:44, 21 July 2014 (GMT)

- (edit conflict) Wolves not attacking werewolves is a gameplay mechanic, I haven't read anything in lore saying that wolves, as a whole, don't attack werewolves. The wolves "casting" a ranged frost spell is a gameplay mechanic. The wolves in lore terms aren't actually using magic, they are simply attacking with a cold based attack. The only way, in arena, for this to manifest differently than a melee attack was for it to be a spell, and I'm fairly certain (like 80%) that all spells in Arena were either on self or ranged. There were no touch based magical attacks. I could be wrong. In any case, the wolves causing frostbite is the important aspect from a lore perspective, with the ranged-ness a technical limitation of the game. Atleast, that is how I understand it, I haven't played arena in a long time. Jeancey (talk) 04:47, 21 July 2014 (GMT)

- The easiest way is to look for a book that mentions the behavior. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 16:10, 21 July 2014 (GMT)

- Lore:Lycanthropy Says: "Wolves and even bears may have a special affinity for werewolves, being less likely to attack them,[2] and sometimes actually hunting with a werewolf.[5]"
- It lists "Events of Skyrim" and "Online:A Werewolf Hunter's Advice" as a source. — Unsigned comment by Ashendant (talk • contribs) at 12:14 on 21 July 2014

(←) I was reading the book, and I don't see any reference to it, other than a werewolf can summon wolves. A conjurer can summon wolves, too. Although, I am still of the belief that wolves not attacking werewolves should not be mentioned, if for no other reason than we don't mention how one wolf doesn't attack another. A werewolf, like I said above, is effectively just a very large wolf. ~ Ad intellige (talk) 16:42, 21 July 2014 (GMT)
- Heh Okay. I will leave at that even trough I believe we should mention werewolves in this article (and werebears in the bear article) if we're going with that argument.--Ashendant (talk) 16:57, 21 July 2014 (GMT)
pit wolves[edit]
hey, so i'm kinda new at Skyrim and I don't have any mods or online content or downloadable content but when I was coming out of Winterhold and I got attacked by these "pit wolves" I killed them obviously. but on the guy that was there I found a letter that said they had escaped and wanted them back alive. but there is no information about the pit wolves other then red ones. can anyone help??? — Unsigned comment by 46.60.253.129 (talk) at 12:55 on 22 May 2018 UTC
- Sorry to say there isn't much information on the wolves, even the Skyrim page is a bit lacking on them. However, I do know that the note adds the map marker to SR:Cragslane Cavern on your map. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 18:30, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
Atronach Wolves[edit]
Atronach Wolves shouldn't really be listed on this page, because the atronach wolves are not wolves at all—they are Atronachs who happen to resemble wolves because of the conditions of their conjuration. It's mismomeristic to list them here, and I think that if they should be listed anywhere it's on their individual pages at Flame Atronach and the other atronach pages. - I agree; listing the Atronach wolves here is like calling a slowworm a snake. —Aran Anumarile Autaracu Alatasel (talk) 09:53, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
