Lore talk:Twin Secrets
Sic Tags[edit]
I'm not much of a lore person, but to me as a reader here, the [sic]s and notes about spelling are really strange. Is the only issue stopping people from "fixing" spelling errors, etc.? If so, then I wonder if texts like this should be protected, so that someone needs to approve a change? If one of the purposes is to show, "these aren't errors," then I think that's not worth the strong effect this has of pulling readers out of any feeling that they're reading something they encountered in the game world. I'd guess that a couple of percent of people might think, "This is wrong." But having it all marked-up in blue like this would detract from almost everyone's experience of reading it. It's like watching a Spiderman movie and having a notice appear saying, "For the record, the producers of this film do not actually believe that a person can fly around on buildings using spider webs." --Jreynolds2Talk 01:54, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- You may have a point, but it would mean protecting or semi-protecting a rather large number of pages, which is a lot of work and also partially defeats the purpose of a wiki. Nevertheless, I would suggest bringing this idea up again on the Community Portal, perhaps in a month or so when hopefully we're not quite so busy. – Robin Hood↝talk 06:43, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
