Lore talk:The Agent
What consensus?[edit]
My edit was recently reverted regarding the Agent being a male in lore. This was based on the grounds of some prior consensus, but this seems unfounded. Lore:Hero has the male pronoun, which acts as a precedent in favor of using it here, too. Here's the excerpt from the book The Warp in the West which confirms the gender.
"We do not know the exact sequence of actions that produced the event, although we are confident that the 'Totem' artifact was involved, and that a Blades agent was involved in employing that artifact. We unfortunately lost contact with that agent immediately after the event; his report might have gone some way to resolving the contradictory and paradoxical accounts of the event."
Another wiki precedent which goes to confirm that this mention is enough is the discussion page on Lore:Hero regarding the Nerevarine's gender. Neloth in Dragonborn refers to the Nerevarine as 'he'. Despite a comment from Michael Kirkbride claiming this was a glitch and some arguments for generic he, wiki consensus was that the line was enough to change the Nerevarine's pronouns on related articles to match accordingly. As there is no such dev comment here, there is even less reason to waive the pronoun in the book.
I'm not sure why a discussion was needed here, to be honest. The be bold clause covers something so minor as filling in a missing gender, no? Mindtrait0r (talk) 22:21, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
