While I also saw this region on the ESO concept map long ago, I wonder if there are actual in-game sources about this. Madam Firilanya only ever mentions the region's name, without saying if it's in Hammerfell or even if it is inland. If this information is only found in datamined stuff, it should not be in lore. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 10:03, 7 April 2018 (UTC)

Unofficial data can be used to expand on a known topic. That said, the extreme lack of official sources to begin with probably means the page should not have been created in the first place. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 16:25, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Agreed. The only official piece of information is that it is a region, which is way too little for a page. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 18:21, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
I have two direct sources that show the name and location of Sunforge. One of them is this map from the earlier versions of ESO, showing its full outline in Hammerfell. The other is this in-game composite map, displaying its name southeast of Bangkorai, which you can see for yourself if you happen to get past the mountains and reach that area. There are numerous other maps showing outlines of Sunforge, such as this Murkmire location map and maps seen in many of the official videos, like this video which shows the full boundaries of Sunforge. Its mention in the hireling letters canonizes it out from pre-release content, even if we have yet to visit it. There have definitely been location pages created in the lorespace from far less info. I would put it in the same category as Thornmarsh, which has yet to be an in-game zone, but is very much a canon location. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 19:53, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Blank maps are not usable as proof of a named place's existence, especially when those maps were replaced with ones that do not show the area before the game was released. The same goes for the maps that actually give a name. Also, should the area be included in an update later on, it could very well have been renamed. Literally the only official information on this location is its name, "Sunforge". We have nothing official to prove anything else, and no existing page has been made with less than that. In comparison we have a trove of information on Thornmarsh, its name, its general location, a titbit of information on its inhabitants, and all of it official. However, contrary to appearances, I am not against its existence. I wouldn't argue in favor of it, but I wouldn't argue against it either, now that it does exist. If we are using the alpha map as a source, then the Weeping Desert should be mentioned somewhere, probably on this page for now. It might be better to move both of these to a note on Hammerfell's lore page. —Dillonn241 (talk) 12:01, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
I don't see a problem with using development maps as UOL sources, similar to what we've previously done with places like Sutch and Clockwork City. The only danger is that the ESO devs later release these zones but place them somewhere else, like what happened to Murkmire. —Legoless (talk) 12:47, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
