Strid or Sirid

Hmm. On my it definitely looks like "Strid" but other maps on this site ([[:Image:T.E.S.IV_Cyrodiil_Colour_Full.jpg|this one]] for instance) render this as "Sirid". The latter sounds better but you can see why I thought it was the former here. Does anybody know which is right? --Rpeh^Talk 07:30, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

Searching through the .esm files, there is no reference anywhere within either Oblivion or Morrowind to either "Strid" or "Sirid". So at the moment I can't find any definitive example of the river's spelling. However, I personally don't have too much confidence in the spellings shown on the :Image:T.E.S.IV_Cyrodiil_Colour_Full.jpg|T.E.S.IV_Cyrodiil_Colour_Full.jpg map, given that there are other unambiguous typos on that map (most notably, Hammerfell is spelled "Hammerfel"; also "Homeland of Redguars", "Jeral", "Khajit", etc.). And looking at the fullsize hard copy of the Cyrodiil map, it seems pretty clear that it is a "t" not an "i". --Nephele^Talk 08:06, 25 July 2007 (EDT)

Thanks, Nephele. It was from my game map I got the "Strid" spelling - I just wondered if my character-recognition wetware was failing. I hadn't noticed all the other spelling errors on that map. --Rpeh^Talk 05:32, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
