Non-canon sources[edit]

This page apparently relies on non canon sources, as it's only refference is a text from the section obscure texts from the "Imperial Library", and those texts are all non-cannon texts gathered from foruns. The one refferenced here, specifically, is a fan fiction. We cant have a page that relies only in a fan fiction. I suggest either full deletion or a direct refference from a canon source proving the existance of this race.--Max Welrod 01:50, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Proving the *existence?* The Kothri are mentioned in half a dozen official sources. The attached document is certainly not fan fiction and is provided for background, not as a citation for the article. The very limited information here could use a reference or two, feel free to add one or flag the article.Temple-Zero 05:54, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
You're both right. This article isn't very good at the moment, but there are several books that at least mention the race: The Argonian Account, Book 4, Varieties of Faith..., 2920, The Last Year of the First Era and PGE 1st Ed are the first four I found using Google. –rpehTCE 07:45, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I appologise. I will flag the article and, as soon as possible, read the books and put references in the article. --Max Welrod 02:36, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Retcon?[edit]

Is this supposed to be a retcon to explain the silly looking Argonians from Arena, as was done with the Khajiit? It seems like it must be but it remains unclear. 74.128.56.194 13:02, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Don't think so. Those were explained by the amount of licks from the hist tree tadpoles take determining their shape.--85.191.86.135 03:52, 26 February 2012 (UTC)
Besides, there weren't any Kothringi alive during the events of Arena, or any of the Elder Scrolls games for that matter. Bauglir100 04:35, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

orma?[edit]

Why does orma redirect here? the orma were an eyeless race of humans . . . that according to what I know have almost no known connection to the kothringi . . . . I am confused 71.238.243.98 10:22, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

See this. Basically, all that's known in canon is that the Orma, Yerpest and Horwalli lived alongside the Kothringi. The bit about them being blind or even eyeless seems to come from some fanfiction somewhere. --Gez 12:09, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
No they are eyeless, i read that in the . . . the umm . . . what was it . . . 2920, The Last Year of the First Era thats it. I will quote the words that establish the unique racial traits of the orma "but then she noticed through a crease in the rags that the old woman had no eyes at all. She was like one of those Orma tribesmen Rijja had heard about, but never met. Born without eyes, they were masters of their other senses. " Not fan fiction see :) 71.238.243.98 09:48, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
I dont know about the other tribes mentioned, but the orma at the very least deserve their own page I think. 71.238.243.98 09:51, 23 December 2011 (UTC)

Dibe-Mara-Kin[edit]

Please, read carefully the OOG source:

Little Perrif, though, was very brave putting the jugs all in a row on top of her head and making for the jungle roads. But she was not stupid, so she sang a song to Dibe-Mara-Kin, our mothers in the Around-Us

(courtesy of Michael Kirkbride, emphasize by me)

Therefore I'm adding Dibella and Kynareth in the article again. 93.178.98.207 14:31, 13 May 2014 (GMT)

Yes, I mentioned this on WoahBro's talk page. I would support re-adding this back. --Jimeee (talk) 14:38, 13 May 2014 (GMT)
I understand what you are saying now. That's fine. Previously I (and I believe WoahBro) thought you were saying that Dibe-Mara-Kin WAS the source, and we were searching elsewhere for that, not within the previously provided OOG source. But I understand what you mean now, that's fine. Jeancey (talk) 16:14, 13 May 2014 (GMT)
