Location

The current page says "there is evidence to suggest that it is located somewhere beneath the settlement of Old Ebonheart", but the source given for this is the 2920 series. In Fire and Darkness, 2920 is called "generally well-researched historical fiction", pointing out that the series paints the Night Mother as the leader of the Morag Tong, which seems to be an otherwise unsubstantiated claim. Sacred Witness, a book presented as non-fiction, also contradicts 2920 on the Night Mother, claiming the Night Mother herself said her only pre-Dark Brotherhood affiliation was with the Thieves' Guild. It is unclear whether the Night Mother in 2920 is supposed to be the Night Mother we know and love or another woman entirely, but both Sacred Witness and Fire and Darkness interpret 2920's Night Mother as the Dark Brotherhood's Night Mother.

My point being, 2920, in universe, is fiction and we can't take the minor details in it as "evidence" of anything canon. We shouldn't trust the chapter headings in it for the location of the Clockwork City anymore than we should trust that the Duke of Mournhold liked red. I think the sentence should be erased or at least changed to reflect that 2920 isn't an authoritative history book.65.182.235.190 09:49, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Since the wording only says that it suggests it's beneath Old Ebonheart, I don't think it's a big issue. If you feel the need to make the statement even less definite, you could always change it to "...suggest that it may be located...". – Robin Hood↝talk 19:18, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Its status as fiction doesn't devalue the facts within. The sentence is vague enough to convey that the location isn't concrete, especially if other more reliable sources say otherwise, but it deserves a mention on the article. —Legoless 22:37, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Need critique for this page

There's a lot of good content here, though I can't verify the majority of it. I would suggest moving most of the information in the introduction to a section about the reasons for the city's creation, and instead summarize the whole page in the introduction. —Dillonn241 (talk) 09:57, 30 November 2018 (UTC)

Anuvanna'si

I removed the mention of Anuvanna'si as an alternate name for Nirn-Ensuing/Tamriel Final. In The Truth in Sequence "Anuvanna'si" appears as a sentence on its own after every sentence mentioning Tamriel Final, even in places where it would make no sense for it to mean "Tamriel Final" itself, e.g.: "Of all the threats to Tamriel Final, NM is the greatest. Anuvanna'si." There is other evidence indicating that "Anuvanna'si" is an exclamation, not a name—see the description of the Factotum polymorph: "Move with clockwork precision and set aside the flaws of the et'Ada gears. Anuvanna'si!"

It might potentially mean Tamriel Final, but I don't think there's enough evidence for UESP's purposes to claim that. —SeferZohar (talk) 21:45, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
