Lore talk:Auriel's Shield
Tundra Homestead[edit]
I agree with the anonymous user who removed the sentence about the display in Tundra Homestead. The possibility of placing the shield there is not noteworthy or even correct exactly. The shelf's restriction to Dawnguard collectibles is an in-game limitation. Lorewise, there is no more reason for the Last Dragonborn to have placed the shield there over any other house, and no requirement that they displayed it at all. —Dillonn241 (talk) 10:32, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- I added it to the page based on how we treat all other artifact displays, e.g. the Mournhold Museum of Artifacts in Tribunal. It would be inconsistent with the rest of the namespace not to mention it. That said, I can see the reasoning behind labelling the Homestead displays as simply game mechanics, so I'm fine with its removal if consensus is against it. The reason I reverted the anon is because the line was deleted with no explanation, which I presumed was due to anti-Creation Club sentiment. —Legoless (talk) 13:07, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

- I agree with the removal of that sentence. I don't find the ability to display the shield in that home any more noteworthy than placing a unique item in any other home—which is neither noted anywhere else on the UESP nor particularly relevant to the lore. It's different from the Mournhold Museum of Artifacts, as the Mournhold Museum was actively looking for these artifacts and could buy them from the Nerevarine, which is notable from a lore standpoint; the LDB possibly placing an artifact in their possession in their home is not. —Aran Anumarile Autaracu Alatasel (talk) 15:30, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
"Aspect of Akatosh" line changed[edit]
I changed the line about Auri-El being "an aspect of the imperial Akatosh, the dragon god of time" to say he's "the altmeri Akatosh, dragon god of time" because Auri-El just isn't an aspect of Akatosh, both sources sited just call him the elven equivalent. Admittedly the edit isn't the best, this is my first proper edit and my computer's acting up, but I want to get the point across — Unsigned comment by Gay lil guar II (talk • contribs) at 19:24 on 23 April 2022 (UTC)
