Koeglin

Koeglin belongs to Alcaire in 2E582, but it's not sure it still does in the 3rd Era and it probably corresponds to the city of Koegria of 3E405 in the fiefdom of the same name. Shall it remains as part of Alcaire lore article? What is the general policy about moving borders when writing an article? Bengamey 974 (talk) 15:03, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

In short, there is no policy. The world of Daggerfall is much more massive than the regions as represented in ESO's overland zones, and it's a difficult task to reconcile the two. Unless we have a source linking Koegria and Koeglin, I think it's better to keep them separate and avoid making assumptions about two very different political and geographic realities. As for this page, I think we should list both and mention that the borders of Alcaire have shifted over time.

Alternatively, we could restore Lore:Alcaire (fiefdom) and make this a disambig for the city, the ESO region, and the Third Era polity. 👀 —⁠Legoless (talk) 16:11, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

To drive the point further home, shall we propose Daggerfall's "The Laboratory of Mordyval" is the same place as ESO's "Moravagarlis"? I think not. These are two different products and while the names may be similar, continuity errors are bound to happen. --Uniblab (talk) 16:21, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

There is a couple pieces of unused text in ESO that calls the ESO town or at least a specific place Koegria Village. I found it here (ESO Unused Strings) in the 2016 files. I think its enough to tie the two but make with it what you will. --Vincentius1 (talk) 16:30, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

What about not merging the article since there isn't any source in the final product linking the two; but adding a note in both articles a "Note" saying "Unused texts, cut from the final version of Elder Scrolls Online, suggest that Koeglin Village corresponds to the town of Koegria".
