Numara was Queen of Anequina, the northern kingdom of Elsweyr. She was a Moon-Singer and an owner of the amulet of the Anequina Sharp-Tongue, which served as the key of the Moon-Gate and could be her direct descendant.[1] During her rule, events of the Knahaten Flu and Varen's Rebellion took place.[2][3]
History[edit]
At some point before the 2E 563, she became the Queen of Anequina. She ascended to that role after marrying King Hemakar. Before this, she led a life of a Moon-Singer, a Khajiiti lore keeper and historian.[1] She was also a skilled archer.[4] In 2E 563 she gave birth to her daughter and heir, Khamira.[1][5][6]
Numara and her family were murdered at the instigation of the Imperial envoy Euraxia Tharn in the Frostfall Coup of 2E 576, where she employed the Imperial assassin Saulinia[7] to perform the deed. Euraxia seized the throne thereafter.[3] Numara's daughter Khamira, however, managed to escape. Before that happened, Numara entrusted her daughter with the Anequina's amulet she used to own before. It protected the wearer from magical detection.[1][7]
She was mummified and buried in the prepared royal crypt, beneath the Rimmen Palace, alongside her husband.[7][8][9] Euraxia's necromancers reanimated Numara and her husband Hemakar in an unsuccessful attempt to kill their daughter Khamira, who would go on to overthrow the usurper and succeed to the throne of Anequina in 2E 582. Euraxia was defeated and the Queen was put to eternal rest.[8]
