Nix Creature (or simply Nix)[1][2] is a term that describes members of a family of distantly related insectoid arthropod species native to Morrowind.[3] The main members of this family are Nix-Hounds and Nix-Oxen (as well as the Torchnix subspecies),[3][4] though Kwama are also considered to be related.[1]

Primitive versions of these species were known to exist in Morrowind in the distant past. These creatures were darker in coloration than their more modern counterparts.[5] The Telvanni of Bal Sunnar once used time magic to summon some of these primitive Nix-Hounds, Nix-Oxen, and Kwama from the past for use as guardians.[6]

The Chimer were known to tame nix creatures since the late Merethic Era, and would herd the creatures using nix-prods.[7] All three species are culturally important to the modern Dunmer. They are referred to in the Dunmer swear "couldn't give a nix".[8] Nix-Blood is an ailment in Morrowind, though it is unclear if it is linked with nix creatures.[9]
