Faoshor was one of the Reachfolk sorcerer advisors of Emperor Durcorach the Black Drake, who held a prominent position of trust and influence in the emperor's court in the Imperial City. He was possibly a member of the Tagh Droiloch.[1]

History[edit]

Tagh Droiloch
Durcorach the Black Drake, Faoshor's liege

Little is known about Faoshor's past. The Tagh Droiloch were responsible for the deal with Mehrunes Dagon to have Durcorach crowned, with his sorcerers performing countless tasks in wait for the day when the "final part of the arrangement" would be carried out and Dagon will "claim his due" with the Four Ambitions, but the exact role of Faoshor in the process is unknown.[2]

As of 2E 536, Faoshor, alongside Baarselg and Old Wunagh, served as a trusted confidant of Emperor Durcorach.[1] Abnur Tharn, the Imperial Battlemage of Tamriel, speculated that Faoshor, as well as his two compatriots, were members of the Tagh Droiloch, a secret brotherhood of witch-men who engineered Durcorach's rise to power.[1] Although they played an important role in Durcoarch's conquest, the Tagh Droiloch seemingly vanished into obscurity after Durcorach was crowned Emperor of Cyrodiil, leaving their motives and fate unknown.[1] The exact details of their involvement in Durcorach's ascent to power and their ultimate goal remain a mystery.[1]

Little is known about Faoshor's fate following the end of the reign of Durcorach. Durcorach's grandson, Emperor Leovic, who was crowned in 2E 564,[3] was considered the scion of the Tagh Droiloch,[4] even though his witch coven advisory body consisted of another group known as the Icereach Coven.[5][6]

His fate following the overthrow of Longhouse Emperors in 2E 577 is unknown.[3][7] Many Reachfolk retreated from Cyrodiil following the death of Leovic, but it is unknown whether or not he was among them.[8]

Notes[edit]

  • Faoshor's name consists of two parts. One of the parts is identical to the beginning of the Faolan's name, which meant "Red Eagle" in the language of the Reach.[9] Shor, on the other hand, is the name of Nordic god,[10] known to share certain similarities with Reachfolk god Lorkh.[11]
