An Eodoric (Daggerfall)

An Eodoric is a type of attire bearing a seemingly golden aesthetic, sometimes (and sometimes not) containing a set of armbands, a brassiere, a skirt, or loincloth, as well as an ornate collar.[1] Eodorics were worn throughout the Iliac Bay region circa 3E 405.[2]

Notes[edit]

  • The meaning of the word "Eodoric" is unknown; designer Ted Peterson noted that during the making of Daggerfall, the artists created many clothing items for player characters and he had to name them -- when he couldn't figure out what name would apply, sometimes he would make up a name, such as in the case of the Eodoric item.[UOL 1]
    • "Eodor" is a masculine term in Old English (which is an alternative spelling of the word "Edor"), possibly meaning "enclosure", "house", "protector", "prince", or "lord".[LANG 1]
