Arriana Valga was the Countess of Chorrol during the late Third Era. She married the hereditary Count of Chorrol, Charus Valga, and they had one daughter, Alessia.[1][2][3] Count Valga was killed in battle against Nord clansmen of Skyrim, and his death was greatly lamented by the Countess and the people of Chorrol.[1] After Charus' death, Arriana became the ruling Countess of Chorrol.[1][3] The Count's death greatly affected her, as on many a lonely night she would speak to the portrait of him that hung in her bedchamber.[4]
During her reign, Valga was regarded as a dignified, righteous, and reliable ruler.[1][2][5] She was known as a devout follower of Akatosh and frequently attended the Chapel of Stendarr in Chorrol.[1] Around 3E 432, Alessia married the Count of Leyawiin, Marius Caro, and she dutifully visited Arriana every month.[1][2][6][7]
In 3E 433, Chorrol's court mage, Chanel, stole the portrait of Count Valga from the Countess' bedchamber.[4][8] Countess Valga was devastated by the loss of the portrait and launched an investigation into the theft.[4][9] It is unknown if the painting was ever recovered. During the Oblivion Crisis, Valga, unlike the other counts and countesses of Cyrodiil, did not have a strong opinion of High Chancellor Ocato's handling of it.[4] After an Oblivion Gate opened outside of Chorrol's south gate, she warned the people of Chorrol to stay inside the walls, and she put the city guard on full alert.[4] However, some of Chorrol's residents felt that the Countess was more worried about finding the portrait of Count Valga than the security of the city.[10] When the Hero of Kvatch closed the Oblivion Gate outside of Chorrol, Countess Valga provided military aid for the defense of Bruma.[11]
