Time setting[edit]

Just for future reference, this seems to be set during 4E 201 as the Mistveil Guard opponent plays Stormcloaks --Rezalon (talk) 09:19, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Also, dragons literally just returned, so this timeline is in parallel with the Skyrim timeline. --Ilaro (talk) 11:00, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
It is impossible to be set during 4E201, as Laaneth is during the story a teacher in the College of Winterhold - at the same time than J'zargo is member of it, so it can't happen prior to Skyrim -. Also, Sails-Through-Storms is not in the Riften jail during Skyrim, and if it happened at the same time she should be. Therefore the story is set at least at 4E202 or after. Regarding the combats between Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion, we should keep in mind that nothing happening in Skyrim is still canonical, as well as we don't know yet what happened after - maybe the Empire sent in reinforcements and the fight started again?. What is sure is that it is NOT set in 4E201 due to the absence of Laaneth and Sails-Through-Storms during Skyrim. — Unsigned comment by 90.171.48.92 (talk) at 12:52 on 25 February 2019
Laaneth, upon encountering a dragon, is shocked that they've really appeared. This means they've only recently returned to Skyrim, about the same time as Alduin's return. Additionally, Laaneth's role as a teacher at least slightly implies she hasn't just arrived at Winterhold. The simple explanation is that the Forgotten Hero breaks into Mistveil before Skyrim even starts, and that they recruit Laaneth up in Winterhold when the LDB has only arrived to Whiterun or so.
Alternatively, we can recognize that the numbers of NPC's we see do not represent the 'reality' of Tamriel. Those two characters not appearing in Skyrim is not sufficient to discount our positive evidence for a 4E201 placement. Lost in Hyrule (talk) 13:22, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
