Feedback[edit]
This being the first complete article I have submitted to this site (having merely amended others to date) I would appreciate some feedback on how it turned out. Booyah boy 10:11, 9 August 2006 (EDT)
- Very nicely done, a few questions and comments, nothing major.
-
- The figure of $36 million in revenue should have a source or comment on where it came from.
- Similarily, the figure of 350-1000 employees needs a source or comments. Is this for Bethesda or Zenimax as a whole (assuming there is a difference)? It seems about right for Zenimax but a but high for just Bethesda employees (although maybe it is just bigger than I thought).
- A list of the current key or known staff would be nice. Is Chris Weaver still around? I haven't heard much from him and thought I recalled a rumour he was no longer working there.

- Thank you for your comments, DaveH, I appreciate the fact that my request for such met with a reply so quickly, especially from someone who could actually lend a hand. To respond to your comments:
-
- The $36 million figure for 2005 revenue was taken from a company profile by Goliath Industries (a small company that specializes in creating and distributing commercial information). I'll grab the link and post it in a moment. Thank you for making note of that, as I would never have thought to write up a source for such. I shall also check around and see if I can't find something to back that claim.
- The 350-1000 claim was made by a game website covering BethSoft (I cannot recall their name right now). I'll post it herein (not on the article itself) and leave it up to the general consensus of whether or not to leave such standing (I had planned on doing so anyways, hence the bold-faced question mark next to the number).
- Ironically I am working on that at this very moment (said information being quite a bit harder to obtain than the average person would assume). I shall post it once complete...although, naturally, anyone else willing to contribute to such would have my gratitude.
-
- Oh, and in one final comment - for now - your belief that Chris Weaver no longer "worked" for Bethesda Softworks is correct. He actually filed a $1.2 million dollar claim in Weaver vs. ZeniMax Media Inc. Case 8.9.2 for Director Compensation (I actually studied the case for a write-up in school) for breach of contract, and later resigned his position. He has taken various consulting positions both with ZeniMax and it's subsidiaries over the years, although he no longer retains a position on their employee roster...to the best of my knowledge thus far. I'll know for sure once the aforementioned prospectus on employees is complete.

Looks great! We might be able to go into detail with this, and post an article about each of the major Bethesda employees such as Todd Howard, Pete Hines, Gary Noonan, Steve Meister, Ken Rolston, and some of the more influental ones in the community. A couple of them might even have accounts on this site, like Steve Meister. --Aristeo 11:40, 18 August 2006 (EDT)
- Thank, Aristeo. I'm just about finished with the employee roster (give me, say, one or two more days), although some of it I cannot be certain of (as again, the list is being drawn - in greater part - from various game credits). I'll send an email to Bethesda itself and see if I cannot get any input direct from the source.
- Oh, and I happen to second your suggestion of articles about each of the primary figures in BethSoft's history (and present). I believe that would be an excellent addition to the site. -- Booyah boy 15:22, 18 August 2006 (EDT)
Sources[edit]
- I thought I would drop the sources herein for perusal, as noted above.
-
- The $36 million claimed revenue was from Goliath Industries, as seen on their website. Simply select "Company Profiles" as the search category, and insert Bethesda Softworks as the search term. You will be led to a results page containing Bethesda Softworks LLC with a revenue of $4 million, and Bethesda Softworks/Media Technology Limited with a revenue of $32 million. For any who are confused, both are the same company, however, United States income tax reports require that the company post it's annual income both as a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media (as Bethesda Softworks/Media Technology Limited), and as a separate entity (Bethesda Softworks LLC).
- I cannot find the site which listed the employees at 350-1000, but did chance across another marketing report site, Jigsaw, which lists the figure at 250-1000. I will amend the report to such if I cannot find my prior source.
- As noted by DaveH's comment of "Is this for Bethesda or Zenimax as a whole (assuming there is a difference)?", I am going to assume it is as a subsidiary of ZeniMax, in which case their employee listing would include those who work merely as consultants, and/or in a PR and publishing capacity through ZeniMax.
- Lastly, I am still working on the current employee roster, compiling such in greater part from the credits of various BethSoft-made games.

I'll clean it up a bit, decide upon a format, and append it to the article itself. -- Booyah boy 22:00, 18 August 2006 (EDT)
Additional Material[edit]
I just stumbled across a page at Daggerfall:Bethesda that seems like it should get merged into this one (to the extent that it's not completely out of date). Anyone agree? --Nephele 14:37, 19 September 2006 (EDT)
- I'm all for including what content in said article is pertinent, however, a quick perusal revealed little that is new (or will not be included in separate employee articles), thus, I would be against a direct merge (not to count, the layout of the noted page does not quite fit with this article). I'd recommend simply writing in whatever needs be included. -- Booyah boy 20:59, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
Skyrim Content[edit]
I know no one will probably be allowed to add the section for Skyrim since it has not come out yet but should'nt we atleast update the "Oblivion and Future Games" section? If not thats fine, I can wait. --Clan Orion 03:30, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

- Also this page needs to be cleaned up! The forthcoming games section is outdated and there are many sections that could be refurbished under modern standards... Also I meant "Oblivion and Beyond". I might clean this up myself, just later around- around 11 or 12 Texas time. --Clan Orion 03:34, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Bethesda's History[edit]
I just found these great videos by Machinima on Youtube, it shows the company from its humble beginnings to the superpower it is now. Here is part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0_PiTtSp_I the other parts are on the suggested videos Fin Dova Feyn 06:30, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Forthcoming games[edit]

Fix hyphenation in lead[edit]
The "game-line" should be "game line". Hyphenation is not used that way. I have a tech job, not a "tech-job", and I ate at an Italian restaurant last night not an "Italian-restaurant". Hyphens are used to join compound modifiers ("a well-adjusted new roommate") and compound nouns ("a jack-o'-lantern"). — Darklocq ☎ ¢ 18:21, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Forthcoming Games, Battlecry aligned incorrectly[edit]
As no genre as been specified that box must be left blank, but instead everything is one box to the left as it was not formatted correctly.
