Powerful Staff?[edit]

i don't know if this is an error or not but in bloodmoon on the smuggled weapons quest in gundrung cavern, the last guy was wielding a silver staff of paralysis which isn't usually that strong, usually you know likw 1-7 or something but this has a 20-45 damage and thats close to the damage of the trueflame and hopesfire.— Unsigned comment by 72.29.246.63 (talk) at 13:53 on 18 December 2009

As I remember, it's a silver axe of paralysis, and yes it is rather powerful. Mind you, I've only done Bloodmoon once, and that was a year or so ago, so I might be misremembering. --Gaebrial 06:14, 20 December 2007 (EST)
Well for my game it was a staff of paralysis, no joke, but its probably randomly genreated— Unsigned comment by 72.29.246.63 (talk) at 23:38 on 20 December 2007
It is the truth with that staff. Gualtierus Spurius has the staff (according to TES). The weapon truly has 20-45 dmg.— Unsigned comment by 78.98.109.228 (talk) at 13:53 on 12 December 2009
Yep. Gualtiers Spurius always wields a silver staff of paralysis, which does quite some damage. I believe it's the strongest staff found anywhere in the game. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 15:57, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Killed them all but . . .[edit]

I went to the cave with the smugglers, and killed them all, but never got a journal entry. When I go back the the fort, my conversation with the Captain indicates that I haven't finished my quest. Can't reload to an earlier game (there is none) any suggestions? I could swear that I killed all five, and I've been all over the cave.

Did you take your companion with you? --BenouldTC 18:59, 23 April 2008 (EDT)

Had to resort to the console[edit]

When I did this quest, I went on a killing spree and killed all of the smugglers. At least, that's what I thought. Later I found out that I only killed four of the supposed five. One of the Orcs was missing! Because I'd only killed four, and thus killed the leader, this quest became impossible to complete. I eventually used the console command Journal BM_Smugglers 97 to update the quest. Since nobody ever complained about missing smugglers, I assume this issue isn't widespread and so doesn't deserve a mention on the article itself. Zeno Faustus, Disposition[edit]

You must get Faustus' disposition to be more than 74, less than 91 (Don't know the exact number, my guess would be 80? Seems about right) for him to tell you about the caverns. Otherwise he will refuse to speak about it. In the xbox goty edition, anyways. Also of possible note, I chose to take Artoria (perhaps Lusius uses his own wiles to get him to speak?) Jihiro 20:53, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Edit: According to Quest Stage 60, Zeno Faustus seems willing to speak with me about the smuggling ring, as he trusts Saenus Lusius. Thus it would seem Lusius does use his own wiles =) Still, a bit more testing could be done here (sadly I've already saved) Jihiro 21:00, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Already added. Thanks for pointing it out. rpeh •TCE 21:05, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

Striking a deal[edit]

How is the deal actually negotiated if you have Lusius as a companion? I tried to cause this, but all the smugglers, including the leader, were hostile and Lusius had no special dialogue whilst in the caverns. Do you have to calm them first or was my disposition wiht them simply too low? --87.115.180.223 20:49, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

According to the script, the relevant greeting should be forced as soon as Lusius comes close enough. The GetDistance is 512 units. Gualtierus' fight value should be reduced to 30 and he should stop the fight. Never chosen this option, so I can't verify in-game. Wolok gro-Barok 17:04, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
It has been a while since I did this one, but if I remember right, the leader was not hostile. It might have something to do with your disposition though, if your Personality was low. --Brf 16:25, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Attached at the hip[edit]

So I completed this quest, but my companion won't stop following me. Is this normal? If not, is there a console command I can use to get her off my back? (Edit: I locked her in a prison cell with the "lock 99" command, but I would still like a non-kidnapping fix please — Unsigned comment by 70.162.82.11 (talk) Kinne 07:22, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Zeno's disposition[edit]

The article says it must be at least 60 with Lucius, but I was successful with a disposition of 58. This warrants more study, I think. Xolroc (talk) 20:15, 3 September 2013 (GMT)
