The eastern, aspen-dominated section of the Great Forest

The Great Forest is the woodland region forming a crescent north, west, and south of the Heartlands region, its border being roughly defined by the Red Ring Road. The forest borders the Jerall Mountains to the north, the Colovian Highlands to the west and the West Weald to the south. It also shares a short border with the Nibenay Basin in the east and the Nibenay Valley in the south.

The Orange Road cuts across the northern portion of the region, with the Silver Road heading up through the north, the Black Road going across the west, and both the Green Road and the Gold Road heading down through the south. The lower course of the Silver River winds through the eastern section of the region.

The city of Chorrol is situated on the western edge of the Great Forest, while the temperate southern reaches of County Bruma occupy the eastern edge. In the latter area you will find the settlement of Greenwood, the rocky outcrop of Reman's Fist and the Ayleid ruin of Anga.

The forest is home to a variety of different plants. The eastern edges are dominated by aspen and birch trees, and host plants including Lavender, Motherwort and Wormwood as well as Fly Amanita, Steel-Blue Entoloma and Summer Bolete mushrooms. Also present but rarer are Elf Cup, Green Stain Cup and Clouded Funnel mushrooms.
