Capstone Cave[edit]
This cave is home to a large amount of mushrooms and a small bandit group. The leader of the group, after failing in his alchemical experiments and suffering hallucinogenic effects from eating the mushrooms, is now harvesting them for sale. This is immediately apparent in the first room, which contains a fenced off mushroom garden guarded by a bandit archer. A leveled one-handed weapon lies on a table nearby. During Absent Antiquity, a dead bandit boss will appear here and you will find a note from Dar'zorben on their body. Head east into a small room with a pond, where you will find a coin purse, a bottle of Applewatch cider and the body of Grecus, an unlucky bandit who died after trying one of the bandit leader's experimental potions. An open chest up on a ledge on the northern wall holds three leveled potions.
Track back to the first room and head west into a room with a corundum ore vein, a barrel of uncommon ingredients, a coin purse and an apprentice-locked chest high up on the western wall. The next room hosts two bandits, the rare book Songs of the Return, vol 24 and a chest and coin purse hidden behind some crates. Press on north into a blood-spattered and abandoned mushroom garden with a trashed fence. Nearby are two tombstones and a poem biding farewell to two mushroom pickers killed by falling stone slabs. Just by the entrance is an iron ore vein and, behind some rocks next to it which you can jump over, a chest.
Head back south and then east to enter the final room, a large chamber on two levels, with three bandits (including the boss) on the lower level and three archers up above. Around the campfire in the lower level are four bedrolls, an uncommon ingredients barrel and an open chest with three gold ingots, a silver ingot and seventeen gold coins. On the upper level is a boss chest, a workbench with two corundum ingots, and a gray fox pelt. On the far side, by some crates, is an alchemy lab, a chest, a malign lingering poison, a standard poison, an alembic and two notes explaining the bandit leader's mushroom obsession. High up on a ledge in the southwestern corner you will find another chest, which can be reached by jumping from some nearby crates.
