The Rim Territories (or simply known as the Rim)[1] is a region within Anequina, in the province of Elsweyr. As the name implies, the Rim Territories consists of the borderlands of Northern Elsweyr, around the regional capital of Rimmen, the northwest hills and steppes, and the southern valleys. It is the namesake of the Rim-Men, a group of Imperials that descend from the Akaviri of the Second Empire.[2] This also includes the Tenmar Borderlands in the south.[3]

History[edit]

When the Akaviri of the Second Empire were banished from Cyrodiil, they fled to Elsweyr with their Imperial retainers, seeking asylum from the Khajiit. King Savlian of Rimmen and Queen Padala of the Anequina Khajiit offered them the Rim Territories along the northwest hills and the southern valley. These refugees intermingled with each other and later became the Rim-Men. They built several isolated settlements across this region, among them was Hakoshae.[4] Many years later, the Rim-Men waged several bloody wars with the Khajiit, who wanted to reclaim the Rim from them. They were successful and the Rim-Men returned to Cyrodiil, to join with remnants of the Kamali invasion from 2E 572 to reclaim the Imperial City. They had a short-lived reign, but like many, they were overthrown.[2]
