Babette is a Breton assassin and member of the Dark Brotherhood. She specializes as an alchemist. While she looks like a ten-year-old girl, Babette is in fact a three hundred-year-old vampire. She was bitten as a child and, as a result, retained her childlike appearance.[1] She uses this to her advantage to complete her contracts; her targets do not perceive her as a threat, and she often plays the part of a scared, lost little girl to gain their trust.[1] Due to her age, it can be inferred that she was born and turned during the reign of Empress Morihatha.

Babette resided in a Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in the outskirts of Falkreath, where the last known chapter of the Brotherhood was still active in 4E 201. That same year, Babette witnessed the arrival of Cicero and the Night Mother to the Falkreath Sanctuary and the appointment of a new Listener. She was absent from the Sanctuary when the chapter was massacred by the Penitus Oculatus, and subsequently moved to the Dawnstar Sanctuary with her surviving Dark Brotherhood family. Conflicting reports suggest that the Falkreath Sanctuary was wiped out without the appointment of a Listener. In any case, Babette remains one of the few known surviving members of the Dark Brotherhood in the Fourth Era.[2][3]
