Edit Issues[edit]
Attempting to post updated image (I worked really hard getting this screenshot and would prefer that it not just disappear) but the "file name does not match" issue is not allowing me to upload the JPG instead of BMP (per regulations). Also, I noticed that BMP is actually listed as an "allowed file type" although the Image Standards (near the END of the Images Help Page) specifically state NOT to use this image type. When originally uploading the image, I HAD to post a BMP because of the "file name does not match" issue, so apparently the previous image posted had been allowed as a BMP. Also, it would help if the aspect ratio thing was noted on the upload page (it's just a single line), or at least include a link directly to the "Image Standards" section of the help page. — Unsigned comment by Christylynn78 (talk • contribs) on 2 March, 2015
- You should be able to upload a new revision of a file if it has the same extension, so you must've done something wrong. The aspect ratio should actually be 4:3 in this case, considering its function. Not sure if you could add a note of aspect ratios at the upload page, but if it can, that would not be a bad idea. Regardless, if this were to replace the current image, it'd be reverted, mainly because of the circlet. And off the record, the image of Onmund without a hood should not even exist in the first place ~ Dwarfmp (talk) 18:19, 2 March 2015 (GMT)

- @Christylynn78: I have replied to your message on your talk page. Please see User talk:Christylynn78#Editing Issues.
- @Dwarfmp: To add such a note to the upload page, you would need to edit MediaWiki:Uploadtext. There does appear to be a notice at the top linking to the help page (Please read our Images help page for details on our preferred image names and formats) but to me it's actually quite missable as it is in a blue Message box. Adding a link directly to the aspect ratio standards may be beneficial. It's also theoretically possible to edit the "permitted filetypes" using MediaWiki:Upload-permitted, but that actually appears to be system-defined, so we would have to literally disable BMP uploads for that issue to be addressed. --Enodoc (talk) 10:09, 3 March 2015 (GMT)
